Birkrigg Common

Birkrigg Common sits just outside the Market Town of Ulverston. Its elevated location gives panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.

The Druid‘s Circle lies on the south-east side of Birkrigg Common about 0.5km from the coast, overlooking the village of Bardsee.

It consists of two stone rings. Only about 30 concentric stone circles exist in the UK.

Birkrigg Common, a childhood haunt, is popular with visitors and locals alike. A place to enjoy a picnic on hot Summer’s day,  it is also a great location for  budding astronomists to get out their telescopes and enjoy a bit of stargazing.

A great dog walking spot ( dogs must be very strictly controlled due to the large number of sheep that graze the Common) it is enjoyed by dog lovers every day of the week. With plenty of places to park your car, this very lovely, yet peaceful Common is a great place to de-stress.  The stunning 360 degree views are an added incentive.  Easy walking, your dog will love you for it.

And if you are visiting the area why not make a day of it and do this  fantastic walk. An enjoyable walk for you and your four legged friends Bardsea, Baycliff & Ulverston
